Gospel Light Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-43 walloping at the hands of Greater Vision Academy. Gospel Light Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 14 to 6 on offense.
Gospel Light Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drake Walker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Samuel Sisk who scored 15 points. Walker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Skipper, who scored six points.
Greater Vision Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Titus Tucker led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. Johntez Raspberry was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Gospel Light Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Greater Vision Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gospel Light Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Triad Baptist Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 610 points over their last eight matches. As for Greater Vision Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Lee Park Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lee Park Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
