Softball Recap: Tooele Has No Trouble Against Snow Canyon

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tooele had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Snow Canyon Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jaelyn Woods looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Olivia Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Lyric Nelson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Tooele hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 7-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Tooele's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Snow Canyon, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.

Tooele will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
