The North Miami Warriors were the 62-53 winner over the Wabash Apaches when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. North Miami took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wabash on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that North Miami has lost by exactly nine points.
Kaiden Hanley and Laney Musall certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Hanley scored 19 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds, while Musall scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hanley is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Donaldson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wabash to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaitlynn Honeycutt, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kierra Wilson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
North Miami has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Wabash, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.
North Miami on the road again on Wednesday and play against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Northwestern is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Wabash, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29.
