They really took it to Mitchell County for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-29 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Seminole County, who have now won five games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Seminole County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Equeasha Daniels, who scored 13 points along with nine steals and six assists. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Zyi'Kiera King, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven blocks.
Mitchell County's loss came despite strong showings from Akiria Sessions and Adrianna Burkes. Sessions scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, while Burkes scored six points along with six rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Mitchell County struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Seminole County racked up 19 assists.
Seminole County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4. As for Mitchell County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Seminole County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pataula Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. Pataula Charter Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 479th, while Seminole County is ranked 215th). Mitchell County is on the road again on Friday and play against Randolph-Clay at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Randolph-Clay and Mitchell County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
