The Lugoff-Elgin Demons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridge View. Lugoff-Elgin has not had much luck with Ridge View recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Lugoff-Elgin still got an impressive performance from Nigel Chivers, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Chivers continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Savon Jenkins, who scored 13 points.
Lugoff-Elgin has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Ridge View, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
Lugoff-Elgin will be playing at home against Westwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Ridge View, they will challenge Irmo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Irmo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Ridge View is ranked first).
