Basketball Recap: West Florida Baptist Academy Piles Up the Points Against Central

West Florida Baptist Academy won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors breezed by the Central Jaguars to the tune of 73-46. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

West Florida Baptist Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb Wiggins, who went 8 for 15 en route to 26 points along with five boards and four steals. Wiggins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shepard Brown, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carson Baxley went 7 for 16 en route to 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds Baxley has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brock Reeves, who posted seven points.

The victory was the third in a row for West Florida Baptist Academy, bringing their record for this year to 20-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

West Florida Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-37 win against Atmore Christian on the 30th. Central has also already played their next game, a 68-55 loss against Chipley on the 31st.
