The Lompoc Braves were the 74-41 winner over the Morro Bay Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lompoc fell just short of Morro Bay by a score of 49-47. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lompoc has scored all season.
Morro Bay had a senior duo take command as Sergio Mendoza scored 16 points along with three steals and Justin Campbell scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Mendoza also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jake Falat was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Lompoc has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Morro Bay, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Lompoc won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mission College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. Mission College Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Morro Bay will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Stone Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Stone Ridge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
