The O'Neill Eagles posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They blew past Ainsworth 63-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory O'Neill has posted against Ainsworth since January 10, 2019.
O'Neill was led to victory by Ashley Sidak and Hannah Hilker. Sidak scored 18 points, while Hilker went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 19 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sidak has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauryn Dusatko, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
Ainsworth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracyn Painter, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Good, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
O'Neill has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Ainsworth, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. O'Neill will face off against Creighton at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Creighton is on a four-game streak of home losses, O'Neill a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Ainsworth, they will head out on the road to face off against North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
