West Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Pennsboro Panthers. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring contest to date.
Mariah Blumenschein led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Haley Prowell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
West Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for East Pennsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
