The Richwood Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-25 loss at the hands of Highland. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Richwood has scored all season.
Several Lumberjacks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Russell, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Trivolette, who scored seven points.
Richwood's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Richwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Pocahontas County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Eastern Montgomery is ranked 369th, while the Rams are ranked 371st).
