The Stark Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Souhegan Sabers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stark will be strutting in after a win while Souhegan will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Stark strolled past Burlington/South Burlington with points to spare, taking the game 30-16.
Meanwhile, Souhegan faced Pelham in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Souhegan took a 40-21 bruising from Pelham last Friday. Souhegan's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite their defeat, Souhegan saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brody Smith, who picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jayden (JJ) Bright, who gained 155 total yards.
Stark has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Souhegan, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-2.
Stark was taken down by Souhegan 35-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Stark avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
