Kaiden Morris was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landen Holmes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Grangeville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Kendrick on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 12-5. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
David Goicoa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Grangeville: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Maries has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Grangeville struggles in that department as they've averaged .491. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Maries suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Grangeville in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
