Baseball Recap: Buckeye Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rio Rico, Buckeye was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Northwest Christian Crusaders 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since April 16, 2024.

David Castaneda was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Buckeye's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Northwest Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Buckeye wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-4 win against Winslow on the 4th. As for Northwest Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Estrella Foothills at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
