Baseball Game Preview: Olympia Titans vs. Boone Braves

The Olympia Titans will be taking part in a tournament against the Boone Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Olympia will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Olympia turned things around against Cypress Creek on Monday. Everything went their way against the Bears as they made off with a 9-3 win. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Natas Leman looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Rathmann, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Robby Hoffman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Boone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Apopka.

Collin Lock was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Boone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyton Seidl, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that Seidl got this season.

Boone's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Olympia, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Olympia came up short against Boone in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 11-6. Can Olympia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
