Both teams will face off at 7:45 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Nebraska Lutheran is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, Nebraska Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Weeping Water, taking the game 50-38. Given Nebraska Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Weeping Water is ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isaac Beiermann and Lukas Worster were among the main playmakers for Nebraska Lutheran as the former scored 12 points and the latter scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Beiermann's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eli Vogt, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Osceola pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Shelton by a score of 68-66. Osceola has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nebraska Lutheran pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Nebraska Lutheran came up short against Osceola in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 79-69. Thankfully for Nebraska Lutheran, Isaiah Zelasney (who scored 37 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
