The Whetstone Braves pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mifflin 66-60. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Whetstone of the 58-51 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 5th.
Tariq Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mifflin, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of John Glover, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Whetstone's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Mifflin, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Whetstone will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beechcroft has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 374 points over their last five games. As for Mifflin, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
