It was a good run, but Long Island City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Academy of American Studies Eagles, falling 16-8. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 15-12.

Long Island City's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Academy of American Studies, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Long Island City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-3 defeat against The Baccalaureate School for Global Education on the 25th. As for Academy of American Studies, they will take on Maspeth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
