The La Porte Bulldogs will take on the Angleton Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
La Porte gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Santa Fe 12-2. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.
Aaliyah Maldonado was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Angleton earned a 4-1 victory over Ball on Tuesday.
Like La Porte, Angleton also got a great game from a two-way player: Rylee Church. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Church was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Church wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ayleen Cervantes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Cervantes also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
La Porte pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Angleton, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
La Porte came up short against Angleton in their previous matchup back in March, falling 8-4. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
