Bryton Dawes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Dulce-Liliani Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Hotton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Copper Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge waltzed into their game on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sentinels have posted since March 25th.
Sydney Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chloe Tycksen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Mountain Ridge's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Copper Hills, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Copper Hills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Mountain Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .496. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
