The Padua Franciscan Bruins suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 79-35 defeat at the hands of Magnificat. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Padua Franciscan has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Padua Franciscan saw an underclassman step up: Sophia Spade scored ten points along with six rebounds. Darlene Jaidah was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Padua Franciscan struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Padua Franciscan's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Magnificat, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Padua Franciscan will take on Beaumont School at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Magnificat, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. St. Vincent-St. Mary is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
