Darien Rogers and Co. Win Eighth in a Row
Cypress Woods picked up their eighth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Darien Rogers. Rogers rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Cypress Woods pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Rogers and Cypress Woods will square off against Cypress Ranch at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

A Season-Best Performance from Aiden Teran Leads Langham Creek over Cypress Park
On Saturday, Langham Creek got the W thanks in part to Aiden Teran playing the best football he has all season. Teran picked up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. He has become a key player for Langham Creek: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Langham Creek moved to 4-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Teran and Langham Creek will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Waller at 6:30 p.m.

Jimmy Alarcon Delivers Best Effort of Season
Sadly, Jimmy Alarcon posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Cypress Lakes over Cypress Ranch on Thursday. Alarcon threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Cypress Lakes now has a losing record at 3-4. Alarcon will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Bridgeland on Thursday.

Theodis Fields Has Career-Day on Thursday
Sadly, Theodis Fields posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Cypress Lakes over Cypress Ranch on Thursday. Fields rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.
For the season, Fields has run in 3 touchdowns while averaging 42.6 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 25.57 rushing yards per game.

On Thursday, Cypress Ranch got the W thanks in part to Owen Cossette playing the best football he has all season. Cossette threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 108 yards on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
If history really does repeat itself, Cossette might just drop another big game when he faces off against Cypress Woods on Friday. When Cossette last faced the Wildcats back in September of 2023, he threw for 479 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown.
