The Seven Rivers Christian Warriors waltzed into their game Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Bishop McLaughlin Catholic with a 45-41 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Seven Rivers Christian also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Leading Seven Rivers Christian to victory were Richard Kilias and Hendrix Loughridge. Kilias scored 19 points along with five rebounds, while Loughridge dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Loughridge has scored at least 25% of Seven Rivers Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Johnston, who scored two points along with six steals and four blocks.
Seven Rivers Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seven Rivers Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Academy at the Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Cristo Rey Tampa at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
