The Chinle Wildcats came tearing into Saturday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 49-43 victory over Monument Valley. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Chinle has scored all year.
Jostaiah Harvey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Kee, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Chinle's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Monument Valley, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-10.
Chinle will take on Window Rock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Window Rock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Chinle is ranked 120th). As for Monument Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Tuba City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuba City will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
