The Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack will head out on the road to take on the Berwick Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wilkes-Barre's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Berwick's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wilkes-Barre made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dallas, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wolfpack were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Mountaineers on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolfpack's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
James Bottger made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Wilkes-Barre was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dallas only posted a batting average of .062.
Meanwhile, Berwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Wyoming Valley West, falling 6-0.
Berwick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frankie Yosh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Yosh's first of the season.
Wilkes-Barre pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Berwick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Berwick's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wilkes-Barre has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Berwick, though, as they've only averaged .295. Will they be able to contain Wilkes-Barre's hitters?
Wilkes-Barre was able to grind out a solid victory over Berwick in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 9-4. Do the Wolfpack have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
