With a playoff game on the line, the John Carroll Patriots rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against Archbishop Curley by a score of 26-18. This was payback for John Carroll, who suffered a 23-17 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Avin Alexandre was his usual excellent self, rushing for 319 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry. Alexandre really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
John Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Archbishop Curley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
John Carroll will take on Concordia Prep at 2:00 p.m. on November 19th. Concordia Prep is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Archbishop Curley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
