Franklin-Simpson had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 22-16 to make it six. They fell just short of the Warren East Raiders by a score of 7-6. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 15-11.
Kloie Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kyleigh Scott was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
As for Warren East, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 2nd.
On Warren East's side, Tristen Lindsey was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched ten innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, Lindsey posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jordan Brooks was incredible, going 4-for-6 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emerye Ratliff, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Franklin-Simpson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Warren East, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 loss against Central Hardin on the 15th.
