The Neuse Christian Academy Lions suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 58-30 defeat at the hands of St. Thomas More Academy. Neuse Christian Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured six defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Neuse Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Josh Martin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aiden Graham, who scored six points.
St. Thomas More Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph De Guzman led the charge by scoring 22 points along with three steals. De Guzman hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of John Paul Mack, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Neuse Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for St. Thomas More Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.
Neuse Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Thales Academy Apex at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thales Academy Apex is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thales Academy Rolesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thales Academy Rolesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
