The Churchill County Greenwave can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They breezed by Dayton at home to the tune of 48-18. Given Churchill County's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Dayton is ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Churchill County found their leader in underclassman Jada Anastasio, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madasyn Moyle, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dayton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Churchill County pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
Churchill County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Dayton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Churchill County will stay at home for another game and welcome Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Fernley will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Churchill County surely won't give up without a fight. Dayton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lowry at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. The timing is sure in Lowry's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Dayton has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
