It was a good run, but Will Rogers College unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Memorial Chargers by a score of 54-52. The Ropers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Several Ropers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terence Buckley, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shon King, who posted ten points and five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Garrett, who had 14 points and five rebounds. Fabian Harris was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Will Rogers College's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Memorial, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Will Rogers College will head out to face off against Ardmore at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Memorial, they will challenge Grant at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
