Indian Creek extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Valley AAAAA this week by beating Buckeye Local, 49-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Redskins.
University took down Preston 59-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Morgantown's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mark Johnson threw for 82 yards and Blaine Stewart had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Chazzy Thomas chipped in 205 yards.
Wheeling Park's Zach Phillips and Eric Banks have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Phillips has thrown for 990 yards this season, while Banks has 27 catches for 481 yards. Thomas from the Mohigans leads the league in rushing with 1396 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Morgantown and the Hawks. John Bowers' team enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while University ranks sixth.
Two of the top units in Ohio Valley AAAAA will face off this week when the Mohigans take on John Kelley's team. Morgantown's offense has scored 280 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Hawks have allowed only 77 on the year.
Cambridge made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,821 from 4,058. The advance stemmed from a 47-9 victory over the Bobcats last week.
