Stroudsburg has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Honesdale Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Stroudsburg will be strutting in after a victory while Honesdale will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Stroudsburg didn't have too much breathing room in their match against East Stroudsburg North, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Stroudsburg's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while East Stroudsburg North is ranked 232nd).
Meanwhile, Honesdale pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dunmore. Honesdale has struggled against Dunmore recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Stroudsburg's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Honesdale, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3.
Stroudsburg skirted past Honesdale 41-38 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Stroudsburg repeat their success, or does Honesdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
