Basketball Game Preview: Gospel Light Christian vs. Alamance Christian Warriors

Gospel Light Christian will venture away from home to square off against the Alamance Christian Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gospel Light Christian will be strutting in after a win while Alamance Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Gospel Light Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. They put the hurt on Triad Baptist Christian Academy with a sharp 53-30 victory. Gospel Light Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

Maggie Jo Church went supernova for Gospel Light Christian, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 24 boards. The dominant performance also gave Church a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Ali Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Gospel Light Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Alamance Christian came up short against Union Grove Christian two weeks ago and fell 41-30.

Alamance Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Gospel Light Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Gospel Light Christian strolled past Alamance Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 44-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gospel Light Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
