The Fort Bend Dulles Vikings''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 21-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Bend Elkins. Fort Bend Dulles was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Bend Elkins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Fort Bend Dulles still got an impressive performance from Camden Ross, who rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Fort Bend Elkins was led to victory by Elon Conley and Brandon Renfro. Conley rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, while Renfro rushed for 104 yards on only eight carries. Renfro was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards.
Fort Bend Dulles' loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Fort Bend Hightower and 8-2 Ridge Point (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.9% over those games). As for Fort Bend Elkins, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Fort Bend Dulles will head out on the road to face off against Fort Bend Clements at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against George Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. George Ranch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Bend Elkins in Texas (George Ranch is ranked 240th, while Fort Bend Elkins is ranked 727th).
