Softball Recap: South Florence's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Florence waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the South Aiken Thoroughbreds. Considering the Bruins have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Payton Perry made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, South Florence let Ryleigh Hux and Reagan Rowsey run wild. Hux went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Rowsey went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Hux has posted since back in April. Page White was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

South Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Aiken only posted an OBP of .364.

South Florence's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for South Aiken, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 21 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.

As of now, neither South Florence nor South Aiken have any future games scheduled.
