The Knightdale Knights will head out on the road to take on the Rolesville Rams at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Knightdale can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 48-43 win over Wake Forest.
Ayomide Adewumi and Ja?Kiyah Moore were among the main playmakers for Knightdale as the former dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Moore has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Melody Bryant, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rolesville came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Wakefield by a score of 64-52. Given Rolesville's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Wolverines are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Knightdale's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-9. As for Rolesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Knightdale was taken down by the Rams 60-22 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Knightdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
