2A Patriot recap September 10, 2013
Kyle Rosenbrock of Brush ran for the longest rushing play in 2A Patriot this season against Fort Morgan last week. Rosenbrock scampered for 90 yards on the play and finished with 164 on the day as his team bested the Mustangs.
University and The Academy played the most contested game in the league this week, with University eventually emerging with a 20-16 victory. Brandon Ewing threw for 188 yards and 4 touchdowns during the win.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Ewing and Matt Wortman proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. J.P. Redfern helped University's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.

Eaton's Matt Burkart and Davis Anders have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Burkart has thrown for 444 yards this season, while Anders has 14 catches for 226 yards. Rosenbrock from the Beetdiggers leads the league in rushing with 259 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Fort Lupton takes on Strasburg. The Blue Devils are in fourth place, while the Indians are in second place.
Strasburg took down Byers 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jacob Smith ran for 118 yards in the win.
