The North Crowley Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Keller Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Crowley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Keller likes a good challenge.
North Crowley stacked a tenth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Crowley on the road to the tune of 56-21. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Chris Jimerson and Caleb Williams. Jimerson had a great game and rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Meanwhile, Williams did his best for the losing side, throwing for 262 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Crowley's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Dacorien Thompson and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Keller beat Haltom 34-28 last Thursday. Given Keller's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Haltom is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cameron Rayford was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
North Crowley's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 12-1 North Crowley and 9-1 Lovejoy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.4% over those games). As for Keller, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
