Terra Nova is 0-4 against Aragon since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Dons at 4:30 p.m. Terra Nova knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Aragon likes a good challenge.
Terra Nova will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Tigers walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Fightin' Irish on Wednesday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Terra Nova got a massive performance out of Olivia Tomasello, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Tomasello a new career-high. Caitlyn Lobo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Terra Nova was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Aragon came up short against Aptos on Friday and fell 7-3.
Destiny Garcia made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Jia, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Terra Nova's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.8 runs this season. As for Aragon, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Terra Nova's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Aragon, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Terra Nova continue to outrun the ball?
Terra Nova might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Aragon in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
