Aledo (Texas) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 45-9 win over Wyatt (Fort Worth, Texas).
The Bearcats put up 14 points in the opening frame. Aledo scored on a
Jess Anders touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Caleb Frysinger.
After taking the lead on a Anders touchdown run in the first quarter, AHS led 28-2 at the half.
The Bearcats expanded their lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. Aledo scored three times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
Anders stood out for AHS in the win. The sophomore running back ran for three touchdowns.
The Chaparrals' lone touchdown came on a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Bearcats came into the game allowing 12.2 points per game.
With the win Aledo extended its winning streak to four games.
Aledo (5-1) will play a 4A Region I District 7 game against Western Hills next week, while Wyatt (2-4) will take on Arlington Heights also in a 4A Region I District 7 game.
