It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Medina Battling Bees had no problem doing just that on Friday. They slipped by Cleveland Heights 21-20. The victory was nothing new for Medina as they're now sitting on five straight.
Medina's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danny Stoddard led the charge by throwing for 359 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt. Austin Knowles was another key contributor, picking up 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Medina is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Cleveland Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Medina is on the road again on Friday and play against St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. St. Edward is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Cleveland Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
