Baseball Recap: Edina's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Edina took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Wayzata, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets skirted past the Trojans 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won four games in a row.

Edina pushed their record up to 14-8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wayzata, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

Coming up, Edina will square off against Farmington on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Wayzata does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
