McCutcheon is 6-0 against the Athenians since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The McCutcheon Mavericks will head out on the road to square off against the Crawfordsville Athenians at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Indiana (McCutcheon is ranked 287th, while the Athenians are ranked 295th).
McCutcheon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. The contest between them and Lafayette Jefferson wasn't particularly close, with McCutcheon falling 70-54.
McCutcheon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gavin Pritzel, who scored 18 points, and Owen Souligne who scored 15 points. Brody Raeke was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Crawfordsville came up short against the Stars on Saturday and fell 50-38.
McCutcheon has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Crawfordsville, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
McCutcheon came out on top in a nail-biter against the Athenians when the teams last played back in January of 2020, sneaking past 53-50. Does McCutcheon have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Athenians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
