3A District 1 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Tuttle extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 1 this week by beating Marlow, 34-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Blanchard and Jones played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Blanchard eventually emerging with a 28-25 victory. Zach Hill ran for seven yards and caught five passes for 112 yards in the win.
The Lions' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Braden Stringer chipped in 112 yards. Kyle Self helped Blanchard's passing attack out by catching two balls for 26 yards.
Brock Lamle put up the best numbers through the air as Blanchard defeated the Longhorns. He finished with 13 completions for 148 yards.
Blanchard's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lamle has thrown for 1257 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Hill has 29 catches for 488 yards. Stringer leads the league in rushing with 661 yards.
The marquee game in 3A District 1 this week will be the clash between Jones and Tuttle. David Martin's team enters the contest ranked 24th in the state, while Philip Koons' team ranks 15th.
The Tigers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 34 points on the Outlaws.
