The Southeast Golden Buffalo were the 79-58 winner over the West Pioneers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Southeast took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of West on Friday. Southeast has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gavyn Phillips was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Phillips' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rob Basks Jr, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Southeast now has a losing record at 1-2. As for West, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Southeast will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for West, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bishop Carroll at 7:15 p.m.
