While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1269th, while University Prep is ranked 412th).
University Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scott Steffan led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Steffan's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Pringle, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for University Prep, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Twelve Bridges at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th.
