Marion had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Herrin Tigers with a sharp 11-2 win on Tuesday. Considering the Wildcats have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marion's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Herrin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-18.

As of now, neither Marion nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
