The Cordova Blue Devils posted their biggest win since November 17, 2023 on Saturday. They blew past Curry, posting a 57-28 victory at home. Given Cordova's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Curry is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cordova's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shelby Black, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Black has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mia Harbison, who scored 12 points.
Cordova's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Curry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Cordova will stay at home for another game and welcome Sumiton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Curry, they will head out on the road to challenge Haleyville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Haleyville is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
