Selah is 1-9 against Othello since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Huskies at 3:00 p.m. Selah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.6 runs per game this season.

Selah took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against East Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over the Red Devils on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Laci Ross was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Ellie Urlacher, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Selah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Othello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Ephrata.

Selah is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Othello, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Selah suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Othello in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
