There's no place like home for the Warren Township Blue Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-34 victory over Wauconda on Monday. Warren Township pushed the score to 47-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Wauconda cut but never quite recovered from.
Warren Township had a senior duo take command as Mariah Phelps dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds and Nari Powers scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Jamila Bland was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Warren Township's victory bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Wauconda, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6.
Warren Township didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-33 win vs. Waukegan on the 7th. Wauconda has also already played their next matchup, a 58-23 defeat against Grayslake Central on the 7th.
