The Moriarty Pintos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Taos Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Moriarty is ranked 57th, while Taos is ranked 60th).
Moriarty fell victim to Espanola Valley's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 50-0 loss at the hands of the Sundevils. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, Moriarty couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Taos' four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Pojoaque Valley, posting a 35-6 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Taos, who have now won three contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
Moriarty has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Taos, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Moriarty suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Taos when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Moriarty, Dameon Ely (who rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
